ใช่ทองแท้หรือไม่ แล้วทำไมถึงเรียกว่าทองเค?

“ทองเค” มีที่มาจากคำว่า Karat Gold หรือเรียกสั้น ๆ ว่า K-Gold แต่พอมาแปลงเป็นภาษาไทยก็เรียกว่า “ทองเค”นั่นเอง เครื่องประดับทองเคนั้นส่วนใหญ่จะเป็น ทอง 18K ผู้ที่คุ้นเคยหรือผู้ที่เคยซื้อทองเคมาใส่คงจะทราบดีว่า 18K เทียบเท่ากับ “750” หรือ 75% นั่นเอง และเมื่อเทียบทองเคกับเปอร์เซนต์ทองในประเทศไทยก็จะเปรียบเทียบได้ดังนี้

ส่วนใหญ่นั้น นิยมใช้ทอง 18K มาใช้ในเครื่องประดับหรือจิวเวลลี่ต่าง ๆ เนื่องจากมีเนื้อทองอยู่ที่ 75% จึงทำให้มีความแข็งแรง คงทน และเงางาม

โดยส่วนใหญ่ในเครื่องประดับนั้นๆ จะมีการสลักคำ เช่น 18K 750 หรือ 75% ไว้บนผิวตามกฏหมายของ “สำนักงานคณะกรรมการคุ้มครองผู้บริโภค สคบ.”

เนื้อทองที่นิยมนั้นจะมีอยู่ 3 แบบ

  1. ทองคำ 99.99% จะถูกหลอมเป็นทองแท่ง เพื่อเก็บไว้เก็งราคากันนั่นเอง โดยจะเป็นทองล้วนๆ ไม่มีส่วนผสมอื่นๆ
  2. ทองคำ 96.5 นิยมเรียกว่า ทองคำแท่ง หรือ ทองรูปพรรณ ที่มีขายตามร้านขายทองทั่วๆ ไป โดยสังเกตุได้จากเลข 965 ที่ถูกสลักบนผิวทอง ซึ่งหมายความว่าเป็น ทองคำแท้ 96.5% และมีส่วนผสมอื่นๆ สีจะอ่อนกว่าทอง 99.99%
  3. ทอง 18K อย่างที่แจ้งไปช้างต้น ทองชนิดนี้นิยมไปทำเป็นเครื่องประดับ จิวเวลลี่ เพราะมีความคงทนแข็งแรง เนื่องจากทอง 99.99% มีความอ่อนมากจะทำให้บุบง่ายจึงไม่เป็นที่นิยม
